Emissions of NOx in the EU:
Whilst emissions of NOx have decreased significantly from transport in
general in EEA-31 between 1990 and 2001 (24 %, not including international
bunkers), emissions from ships (international) and civil
aviation (domestic and international) have increased (by 35, 37 and
69
% respectively). Increases in emissions
from civil aviation reflect continued strong growth in air transport and represent an increasing proportion of total emissions.
